MINNEAPOLIS – The temperament of Jeremy Fears Jr. once again is in the spotlight.
The Michigan State point guard delivered a back kick with his right leg, hitting Minnesota's Langston Reynolds in the groin with 13:28 to play in the second half Wednesday.

But the replay showed Fears initiating contact first with the Minnesota defender in close before flaring his leg.
Izzo benched Fears after the play, and the Gophers’ Cade Tyson hit the two technical free throws. The Gophers re-extended their lead to nine on a layup by Jaylen Crocker-Johnson. MSU had cut a 12-point deficit back to five before the Fears foul.
