As one defensive captain returned to practice for the New England Patriots, another became a non-participant once again.

Inside linebacker Robert Spillane went in a limited capacity during Thursday’s work on the Seattle Seahawks after being sidelined by an ankle injury since the AFC Championship Game. But a knee injury that’s lingered since November saw outside linebacker Harold Landry III head in the opposite direction as Super Bowl LX nears.

Here’s the fifth injury report ahead of Sunday’s 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Levi’s Stadium.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

Patriots

  • LB Harold Landry III (knee)

Seahawks

  • S Nick Emmanwori (ankle)

Landry was back on hand as a limited participant for Wednesday’s practice at Stanford University. But another 24 hours brought a different projection. His defensive snap totals went from 26 in the wild card to 11 in the divisional round before being ruled out ahead of the AFC title trip to Mile High. Across 15 appearances in the regular season, however, the veteran edge defender ranked atop the Patriots with 8.5 sacks and 19 quarterback hits while tying for the team lead in tackles for loss.

As for the Seahawks, Emmanwori marked the lone sidelined member of the active roster on Thursday. The PFWA All-Rookie selection at safety suffered a low ankle sprain the afternoon prior during preparations over at San Jose State University.

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

Patriots

  • OT Morgan Moses (not injury related — rest)

  • OT Thayer Munford Jr. (knee)

  • LB Robert Spillane (ankle)

Seahawks

  • FB Robbie Ouzts (neck)

  • OT Charles Cross (foot)

“There’s no chance in my mind that I miss this game,” Spillane told reporters on Wednesday. “It feels like I’ve been preparing for this moment for years of my life, but 100 percent confidence from me.”

The green dot took a step in that direction by becoming New England’s third partial participant. Spillane had logged 13 downs on defense in the opening quarter at Empower Field before an ankle injury sent him to the locker room. After being announced as questionable to return, he watched the remainder of January’s final win from the sideline. He had missed the closing month of the regular season due to an ankle injury yet finished atop the roster with 97 tackles.

FULL PARTICIPATION

Patriots

  • QB Drake Maye (right shoulder)

  • DT Joshua Farmer (hamstring — IR return)

Seahawks

  • QB Sam Darnold (oblique)

  • FB Brady Russell (hand)

  • WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (not injury related — rest)

  • WR Jake Bobo (hand)

  • TE Eric Saubert (hamstring)

  • OT Josh Jones (ankle, knee)

  • DE Leonard Williams (not injury related — rest)

  • LB Demarcus Lawrence (not injury related — rest)

  • LB Ernest Jones IV (chest)

  • LB Drake Thomas (shoulder)

  • S Julian Love (shoulder)

The full participants remained unchanged at Stanford Stadium. Maye went to that degree for the second practice in a row. The 23-year-old starting quarterback had injured his throwing shoulder versus the Denver Broncos. He was listed as limited during the Super Bowl bye week before an illness kept him off the field for the last practice in Foxborough.

Elsewhere, the 21-day activation window remains open for Farmer. The rookie defensive tackle has resided on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury since December, yet returned to practice midway through the postseason.
