In tonight’s EastEnders, Teddy Mitchell is sentenced to life in prison in a shocking courtroom twist that leaves Walford reeling.

What begins as a frantic hunt for a missing Harry quickly unravels into a devastating confession, a courtroom bombshell, and a tragic overdose that threatens to claim yet another life.

The drama centres on Teddy’s long-awaited sentencing for the killing of Okie, a crime he has already pleaded guilty to in order to protect Harry.

Nicola’s panic rises as Harry disappears

The episode opens with Nicola pacing anxiously around the Square, terrified because Harry has vanished overnight. She fears he has relapsed again and is off using drugs. George does his best to reassure her, promising he’ll keep an eye out for Harry, but Nicola is visibly shaken.

Before she can spiral further, Gina arrives and reveals she knows Nicola is pregnant. Despite the shock, Gina immediately steps up and volunteers to help search for Harry, sensing that something is seriously wrong.

Meanwhile, Nicola, Barney, Honey, Billy and Zack gather themselves and head off to Teddy’s trial. They want to support him on what they believe will be a difficult but straightforward hearing, with the hope of a lenient sentence based on his guilty plea.

At court, Teddy meets with his lawyer, who explains they are hoping the judge will take mercy on him now that he has accepted responsibility. Teddy appears anxious but resigned, bracing himself for whatever is coming.

Back in Walford, Gina and George continue searching the streets, determined to find Harry. When they do finally track him down, the truth he reveals leaves Gina speechless.

Harry confesses: he killed Oki, not Teddy

Harry breaks down and finally tells Gina the truth: he killed Oki, not Teddy. The confession stuns her, but instead of panicking, she focuses on Harry’s spiralling guilt and the emotional torment he has been carrying.

She tells him he cannot throw his life away, urging him to move on and ‘make his dad proud’ by choosing a better path than the one he’s on. Harry then admits he wants to see Teddy before the sentencing. Gina encourages him to go, promising they will stand by him no matter what.

Together with George, they rush straight to the courtroom, but arrive just as the judge delivers a shocking verdict.

Despite hopes for leniency, the court falls into stunned silence when the judge sentences Teddy to life in prison. The entire gallery, Nicola, Honey, Billy, Barney and Zack, react with disbelief. The sentence is far harsher than anyone anticipates, and Teddy is visibly devastated.

As officers move in to escort him away, Harry stands up abruptly, shouting across the courtroom that it is his fault, not Teddy’s. Teddy, realising what is happening, shouts at him to stop, desperate to prevent Harry from confessing publicly or sacrificing himself.

The Square reels as Harry spirals

The residents return to Albert Square in silence, unable to process the severity of Teddy’s sentence.
